Construction Field Inspector

Pillar Engineering LLC is seeking a meticulous and experienced Construction Field Inspector to join our team. The Construction Field Inspector will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring the quality and compliance of construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong knowledge of construction standards and codes, and the ability to effectively communicate findings and recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

Inspection and Compliance

Conduct thorough inspections of construction sites to ensure compliance with building codes, regulations, and project specifications.

Verify that construction work aligns with approved plans, specifications, and quality standards.

Regulatory Compliance

Stay up-to-date with local, state, and federal building codes and regulations.

Ensure that all construction activities comply with applicable laws and regulations.

Documentation and Reporting

Prepare detailed inspection reports, documenting findings, discrepancies, and areas requiring correction.

Maintain accurate records of inspections, including photographs, notes, and reports.

Safety Oversight

Monitor and enforce safety protocols on construction sites to ensure a safe working environment.

Report any safety violations or concerns to the appropriate parties.

Quality Assurance

Monitor construction activities to ensure the use of proper materials and adherence to quality standards.

Identify and report any defects, safety hazards, or deviations from approved plans.

Communication and Coordination

Communicate inspection results and recommendations to project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders.

Collaborate with project teams to resolve issues and ensure corrective actions are implemented promptly.

Continuous Improvement

Recommend improvements to inspection processes and quality control procedures.

Participate in training and professional development opportunities to stay current with industry standards and best practices.

Qualifications

Key Points That Need To Be Addresses

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.

Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction inspection or a related role.

Strong knowledge of construction practices, building codes, and regulations.

Excellent attention to detail and observational skills.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.

Proficiency in using inspection tools and software.

Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to various job sites.

Certification in construction inspection (e.g., ICC, ACI) is a plus.
